It’s November first which means it’s…National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo. There’s even a website to help you track your progress, connect with friends, and set goals. The idea is to write 50,000 words in the month of November or you can set your own word count.
Shockingly I’ve never participated in this before. I usually was knee deep in writing or editing an already existing novel but I know a lot of authors that wrote one of their now published books during NaNoWriMo.
This year, I just started a new project, so I thought that NaNoWriMo would be the perfect way to jumpstart this! Am I expecting to get to 50,000 words in a month? No way, but it’s worth a shot and whatever word count I get to is going to be more than I had before. I thought it would be a fun way to motivate myself to write. Who knows what might happen?
